Part-Time Editorial Intern Audrey Magazine is looking for a cheerful go-getter and all-around great intern to assist the editors and advertising/marketing manager. Duties include: researching fashion/beauty/entertainment/arts/marketing, contacting publicists, running errands, mailing, administrative duties, and other responsibilities as they come up. May do some writing. Great opportunity to learn all about a magazine start-up. Must be highly organized, patient, professional, with a great sense of humor. AUDREY MAGAZINE - EDITORIAL GUIDELINES As of April 2008 Before submitting any queries, we strongly recommend that freelance writers familiarize themselves with Audrey magazine by purchasing a copy. Audrey is available at Barnes & Noble, Borders, and independent newsstands and bookstores nationwide. Audrey is a bimonthly magazine. The lead-time is typically about three months to publication date. Writers should email queries to editor@audreymagazine.com or mail them to Editor, Audrey Magazine, 17000 S. Vermont Avenue, Suite A, Gardena, CA 90247. Please include a resume with relevant publishing experience as well as a cover letter briefly explaining why you are ideally suited to write the article. The query itself should specify which department you are pitching and include a brief summary of the article topic, a brief explanation of the story's relevancy to Audrey readers and two or three possible sources (you do not need to name specific sources). Due to the volume of queries and mail we receive, please allow about a month for a response. Please note, we do not accept simultaneous submissions, nor do we accept any work that has been sold previously to another publication or is otherwise deemed unoriginal.

Our articles cover everything from fashion, beauty and entertainment to health, dining and career, to more in-depth, investigative topics. Cover Story - A leading Asian American woman who is currently making an impact in mainstream culture.

Girl Talk - A casual, chatty profile on an up-and-coming Asian American woman actor, artist or writer.

Audrey Man - A profile on an Asian American man making an impact in mainstream culture.

Trailblazer - A feature on an influential Asian American woman or man who has left an indelible mark in culture, the arts, society, etc.

Special Features - News features on cultural, societal or international trends that affect Asian American women.

Rates: Stories range from 1,000 to 2,000 words with rates varying from 10 cents/word to flat fees.
